Audrey joined the Vinewoods Forge team in May of 2023. She came to the forge via a family connection that knows Rob -- which for her is a lucky connection indeed.
She has lived in Unionville, PA for her whole life. Like so many in this area, she is an equestrian who learned her riding skills at an early age. She participates in "Eventing", a term that refers to various equestrian shows in the area.
Besides her riding activities, she's also been a "Tough Mudder" competitor. If you know anything about that competition, you know it's intensely athletic. She's also been involved in very athletic activities like being part of a Color Guard team (video included below). If you are thinking "color guard" in the old-school military sense -- that is not what it's about. It's a very dynamic blend that seemingly incorporates elements of jazz dance and ballet as well as some more traditional color guard standards.
Currently she is finishing up her degree in Art at the University of Delaware. Her original target prior to COVID was biology. However, with the advent of the quarantine shutdowns she learned it wasn't possible to study organic chemistry remotely.
Art has always been a focus for her. Realizing she needed to make a decision, she opted to change her major to art. She became interested in sculpting after a course in college introduced her to 3D art and particularly metalworking. Although the approach to metal sculpting was a simple "welding together scrap metal" in that course, it whetted her appetite for something beyond that.
Vinewoods Forge is just the place to go well beyond that.
Her plans are to hopefully do post graduate work at UNC (University of North Carolina) Chapel Hill where there is an excellent art program.
We welcome Audrey and are looking forward to seeing her grow in her art -- as well as helping out the forge!
Below are some examples of her art, photos of her at the forge, and and even a video of her Color Guard team.
