Comprised of forged steel, stone, and found objects, this work was commissioned by the Global Sanctuary for Elephants ("GSE") and was auctioned off as part of a fund raiser for the organization. GSE rescues elephants which have been abused, abandoned, or otherwise compromised.

"The broken radiator at the base represents the cold, harsh treatment they received at the circus. The two rocks represent the elephants, fitting closely and tightly together, The sanctuary is represented by the tree whose branches embrace and support the elephants. I have used the chains (uncut and unmodified) to tie the timeline together. Notice at the base the ends of the chain remain loose and intact to remind us that there are still animals out in the world being abused every day. The other end of the chains have broken links to symbolize the freedom of these two animals."
